The Ultimate Holiday Gift Guide: Part Two

November 27, 2018

Now that Thanksgiving has come and gone, the holiday season has officially begun! If you’re anything like me, you go all out for this time of year, prepping your gift lists and mapping out your seasonal home decor months in advance.

Sometimes, though, no matter how much time you put into these preparations, your plans go awry; the items you’ve had on your “saved for later” list for weeks have suddenly sold out, your loved one shows off the brand new scarf you were planning to purchase for them, or maybe you just aren’t satisfied with any of the ideas you’ve come up with.

All of the above instances are beyond frustrating. However, they’re simple to overcome once you find a source of inspiration. With that in mind, I’ve provided some of my favorite gift items this holiday season below!

Gift cards

I know, I know, gift cards are considered to be impersonal, lackluster, and total last resorts. However, I can assure you that, when thought is put into the services that gift card can provide, the recipient will be genuinely excited to venture out and put it to use.

For instance, if a friend or family member has been talking about getting a new hairstyle, facial, or massage for months but has never taken the plunge, a gift certificate could be just the nudge they needed to treat themselves!

Or, if someone in your life is preparing to make a major investment (say, a house or a car), providing them with a Visa or MasterCard gift card could help them cushion the toll such a purchase could take on their finances.

Cozy clothing

If you were around for my last gift guide, you already know that I’m a huge proponent of gifting all things warm and cozy. Not only do they provide comfort throughout the winter months (which, hello, are just around the corner), but they can also be reused year after year!

If you’re shopping for the ladies in your life, you can never go wrong with a super soft cardigan or sweatshirt from Lou & Grey. While they do tend to be a little more expensive, the brand does run promotions regularly. However, if you’re low on time and can’t wait for a sale, Target currently has some stylish sherpa sweatshirts that are just as soft and durable!

Although shopping for cozy items for guys can be a little more challenging, my husband, Jordan, and I stumbled upon a hidden gem this Black Friday. Express has some of the softest checkered sherpa fleece hoodies in their men’s section! Jordan picked up the grey version and has been wearing it nonstop at home, which means it’s beyond comfortable. Plus, it’s still on sale!

Tech accessories

If you have one or more tech junkies in your life, you know just how difficult it can be to find something they don’t already own. So, think outside the box and pick up some accessories to complement their favorite gadgets!

I love this Liz Riden Apple Watch strap so much that it’s actually made me consider getting an Apple Watch. I also keep (kind of) jokingly telling Jordan that I’m going to get him multiple Tile Item Finders for Christmas so he’ll stop misplacing all of his belongings. (Don’t worry, I need a Tile or two just as much as he does. #WhereIsMyPhone?)

Or, if your loved one is constantly on the move, I recommend investing in a travel case for all of the tech accessories they probably already own! This brown leather travel case is absolutely swoon-worthy.

Thermoses on thermoses on thermoses

Let’s face it: we all have at least one coffee-lover in our lives. And, although we’ll never admit to it, we can, in fact, be the most difficult people to shop for. After all, we each have our favorite blends, brands, and brewing devices.

However, you can never go wrong with buying someone one of the best thermoses of all time (a totally unbiased opinion, obviously). Of course, I’m referring to S’ip by S’well Insulated Stainless Steel Travel Mug. Featuring a wide array of colors, patterns, and textures, you could easily find a thermos for everyone in your life. Or, you could just buy enough thermoses for one person to get them through an entire work week. Potato, po-tah-to.

And that concludes my quick holiday gift guide. Let me know if you found it useful, or if you have anything to add in the comments below! Happy shopping!
