Picture this: you have not slept well lately, your finances are messy and uncertain, you are stressing out over finding time to wrap all of those Christmas gifts you bought on Black Friday, and now you have been overwhelmed by a large amount of small tasks at work. Needless to say, every molehill is suddenly becoming mountain-sized, and every small inconvenience is driving you to the brink of tears.
If you have found yourself nodding in agreement with every bit of this scenario, you are not alone. This time of year proves to be draining for just about everyone — what with the early sunset, cold weather, and excessively long to-do lists at work and home. However, with a little self-care and a few motivational pick-me-ups, it is entirely possible — if not feasible — to power through these difficulties and regain your stride.
With that in mind, let us take a look at some of my favorite motivational quotes, ideal for those days when you just want to throw in the towel.
“Grateful for where I’m at, excited about where I’m going.”
Sometimes, you just need to read something that not only puts everything you have into perspective, but sparks enthusiasm as you look at the path that lies ahead.
“Be so good they can’t ignore you.” — Steve Martin
It is no secret that every girl boss shines in her own way. However, as many of us enter the workforce, we may feel too intimidated to showcase those abilities. This quote reminds us to step forward and own our strengths so consistently that others cannot ignore us.
“You can’t have a million-dollar dream with a minimum-wage work ethic.” — Stephen C. Hogan
Nobody ever achieved their dreams by happenstance. Instead, they push themselves to learn; to work hard and well, even when they may not have the motivation to do so; and to undergo great growth and development — both on a personal and professional level.
“Great things never come from comfort zones.”
This has been my personal mantra as of late, especially as I have taken on more responsibilities at work. It has reminded me that, no matter how uncertain I may feel, I am gaining more invaluable qualities — such as professional worth, insight and experience — now than I ever would have in my comfort zone.
